From learning to surf on Gower’s award-winning beaches to exploring its literary, cultural and culinary delights, the Welsh Government’s Visit Wales 2016 ‘Year of Adventure’ program has begun…

Its focus is to encourage everyone – visitors and residents alike – to embrace life outdoors and try something new in 2016.

The very fine Welsh deputy minister for culture and sport Ken Skates said:

“Adventure means different things to different people – you may have always wanted to watch the sun rise on your favourite mountain, ride a horse on a beach, walk the coastal path, fly on a zip wire, go camping or sleep under the stars.

Now is the time to plan your big adventure for 2016 – here in Wales.”

Amazing!

So where shall we start?

Where will you go in 2016?

Having spent most of the first year at our lovely Bed and Breakfast on the Gower Peninsula knee-deep in brick-dust and plasterboard, we really neglected to get out and about and explore this amazing area. This year, our renovations are complete. Our new baby Rowan is fast becoming an inquisitive toddler and three-year old Maelo is intrepidly pushing all life’s boundaries – time to head out on some exciting family adventures!

Did I mention my unhealthy love of list-making? We spent the first week of 2016 scheming up ideas for our own #50days adventure wishlist – 50 fabulous things to do on and around Gower.

Watch out for our first ’50 days’ adventure on this blog… coming very soon!
